The 's "definitive sourcebook" is only slightly better than the 's and 's ones by the same two authors- and you can read my review of the 's one over here ; nothing I have to say about this one is very much different to what I had to say about their 20's sourcebook and everything I said about the 20's applies to the 30's nearly to the letter , so there's really no point in repeating myself.

The only difference between this 's sourcebook and the other two, really, is that the i The 's "definitive sourcebook" is only slightly better than the 's and 's ones by the same two authors- and you can read my review of the 's one over here ; nothing I have to say about this one is very much different to what I had to say about their 20's sourcebook and everything I said about the 20's applies to the 30's nearly to the letter , so there's really no point in repeating myself.

Even with that minor improvement, however, the book is basically the exact same- right down to the organization. Overall, the book can once again be boiled down to essentially being a glorified pinterest board This one's just vaguely more informative this time.

All of the fashion history books that I have currently only go up to the 's, so I am so glad to find a source of books on the decades I am most interested in Fashion-wise. I am certainly going to look into getting the whole series.

It's been on my wish list for a while too! Glad to hear it is worth the price of admission!! And then some, if you ask me. I tend to buy most of my books second hand, wait for sales, or ask for them as gifts, but I would have zero qualms buying the other two and any future decades in this series at retail any day of the week. It practically feels like a bargain when you hold this weighty tome in your hands and get to enjoy hundreds of pages of diverse, beautiful, fascinating s images, complete with some really top-notching writing.

Hey, beautiful pictures! It is my absolute pleasure, dear Emalina, thank you very much in turn for your lovely comment. I think that you would adore this hefty vintage fashion filled tome, too. Definitely will be adding this and hopefully the s and s ones as well, to my wishlist. Thank you for sharing! I Always look forward to reading your blog, as it's so full of history and wonderful information and inspiration. Wonderful review Jessica! While I tend to wear s and 60s the 40s and its fashion is a decade I find equally fascinating and I think this book will now be on my "must by" list.

I loved looking at your instagram shots of this book it looks like a great read I particularly love the two girls with the sheep kate. Oh, it makes me so happy to see you review this here, Jessica. Having read about it a few months ago myself, I was yearning for a good review!

This is definitely on my must-have list; the 40s are probably my favourite era though the late 30s really vie for that spot. It sounds like a delightful confection of a book! Oh wow Jessica - thanks for reviewing this book, I had no idea it was so good. That hat from Echo La Mode is to die for. I think I need a copy of this on my bookshelf.

The pictures look very impressive. I like the photo of the Land Girls, I am just reading a book about the Women's Land Army in Bedfordshire, the county where I live, so it was good to see this. I must add this book to my list: I have the s in this series.
